Biography
Winner of the 2007 Northwest Guitar Festival, Jacob Ineck is recognized for his musical intuition and versatility. A native of Boise, Idaho, he has actively studied guitar for over 15 years and frequently performs a wide variety of styles, genres, instruments.
As a classical guitar soloist, Jacob has received many accolades for his performances. He won the annual BSU Concerto/Aria competition and performed the Castelnuovo-Tedesco Guitar Concerto op. 99 with the Boise State University Orchestra in 2006. The BSU music department recognized his abilities, selecting him to represent the strings department in the annual Chairman’s Honor Recital for three consecutive years, 2005-2007. He also won the prestigious Theodore Presser Scholarship, an award given to only 50 senior-level music majors nationwide. Jacob has been a featured soloist for numerous venues statewide and regionally.
A native of Boise, Idaho, Jacob has had many diverse experiences that have shaped his musical maturity and perception. He has taught secondary-level ensembles in the Boise School District and is a licensed guitar instructor of the Childbloom Guitar Program. Jacob holds a Bachelors of Music Performance with classical guitar and a Bachelors of Music Education from Boise State University.
Jacob was recently awarded a Graduate Assistant fellowship to pursue his Masters in Music Performance at Arizona State University, studying with nationally-renowned pedagogue Professor Frank Koonce. He has studied with or received master classes from Dr. Joseph Baldassarre, Angel Romero, Scott Tennant, Ana Vidovic, Jason Vieaux, Michael Lorimer, Adam Holzman, Argentine guitar composer Marcelo Coronel, Childbloom founder Kevin Taylor, Matteo Mela, and Lorenzo Micheli.
